Who We Are

Mission: To be the area’s principal organization for providing individualized education in fundamental verbal, written, mathematical and technological skills for persons 16 years and older to remove barriers to employment and higher education, improve quality of life, and prepare for community and civic participation.

Learn to Read of St. Johns County, Inc. is a volunteer-based nonprofit providing free literacy and ESL instruction to adults in St. Johns and Putnam Counties, empowering individuals with essential skills for employment, education, and community engagement.

What We Do

We offer free literacy assessments, one-on-one tutoring, and group ESL classes to adults in St. Johns and Putnam Counties, helping them develop vital reading, writing, and language skills needed to pursue employment, education, and active participation in their communities.
